Enhanced by that world-famous California weather, Los Banos is a quaint little town, claiming less than 40,000 residents. With plenty of activities available, both indoors and out, we’re a great choice for growing families. With two high schools, two junior high schools and dozens of elementary schools within inviting and attractive neighborhoods, Los Banos offers a great educational base from which our youngest residents can flourish. Named after the local spring that feeds the area, Los Banos translates to “the baths”, bringing to mind the refreshing culture that the small town inhabits.
Residents of the area routinely enjoy our unique selection of specialty boutique shops, a newly-built bowling alley and local movie theater. The city also offers a variety of athletic and recreational opportunities at our many neighborhood parks. Points of interest include
- The famous Wool Growers Restaurant
- The Randall Fawcett House
- The San Luis Reservoir
- Wetland habitats
Surrounded by agricultural lands and centrally located in Merced County, Los Banos is just a two-hour drive from the Pacific Ocean, two-hours from California’s state capital and two hours east of Yosemite National Park.
